Mulching

This morning I mulched one of the sides of the pool enclosure. I think I am done planting things in those beds and I just need to mulch and maintain what I have.

I planted there some of the bulbs, gingers, cannas, costus and bromeliads I got from GardenWeb friends.

Flowers for my sister.

I finally planted some flowers for my sister. I had promised to make a butterfly garden for her. She used to have a tree in the center of the circular driveway but she lost it to the hurricanes. The bed is not finished but at least I started it. It was a lot of work because I did it in the middle of the day and it was hot outside. I put a Memorial Day Rose, 2 Golden Dewdrops, a non-invasive Mexican Petunia and scarlet Milkweed. They will be in full sun so I don't know if they will survive. It will be easier to replace them.

Picking tomatoes

We have a small vegetable garden and this morning my daughter and I picked some ripe tomatoes. She loves eating them right there in the garden. We also have peppers, eggplants, sweet peas, lettuce, herbs and some fruit trees that I got from GardenWeb friends.

Now I have one just for my garden!

I am going to try to use this blog to track the progress of my garden. I have so many plants now that I need to keep track of them and the things I do in the garden. I also like to see photos of my plants and flowers.
